HEALTHY ENCORES CARRIBEAN (HEC)

Established in 2006, this event will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2026. Healthy Encores Caribbean is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving health and reducing health disparities within the U.S. Virgin Islands community. This July, Healthy Encores in partnership with the V.I. Diabetes Center of Excellence (VIDCOE) will partner to host a Health Awareness Day. The event primarily focuses on diabetes education and screenings. Additional areas of emphasis include cholesterol and glucose screenings, blood pressure, heart health, prostate health, chiropractic care, fitness, nutrition and emotional wellness.

Health professionals and dedicated volunteers provide educational seminars and on-site health screenings for both residents and visitors to the U.S. Virgin Islands. This initiative addresses critical need for preventive healthcare and access to quality medical services within the community. The success is made possible through the commitment of partner organizations and generous support of corporate and individual sponsors. Exhibitors share vital health information and offer giveaways , with the Health Awareness Weekend culminating in a Wellness Walk for Diabetes.
